URBAN FOREST PROJECT
The Urban Forest Project is a Housing Community with a focus on equity planning--building a culture of Sustainability that encompasses a Sustainable and Socially-Just planet.
Too many people are continually experiencing financial, housing, and food insecurities.
This housing facility/forest reduces the heat index, provides onsite food options, and reduces energy consumption with Energy Star and Water Sense appliances.
(saving travel time and money)
The Urban Forest is situated next to a city bus stop, farmer’s market, and library.
The goal of this project is to provide sustainable low-income housing, reduce energy consumption by 25 - 50% , and provide green spaces replete with edible shrubs and trees that help mitigate the Tucson Heat Island Effect.
